Compared to all the skyscrapers now, it looks so much more natural here.
That’s not Court, that’s State
The picture was taken from Court St., hence the title “from Court”. The building on the right has a placard that says “Ward 6 Court St.”
It wasn’t. The sign is visible to me. This is because the main entrance to that building is on Court Street, which is adjacent to where this photo was taken. The photographer was standing next to what is now the Ames Hotel on State street. Every single day, twice a day, on my way to and from work, I walk by it.
