Richard Gere is an actor and producer who made his screen debut in ‘Report to the Commissioner’ (1975) with a small role. He rose to fame with the role of Julian in ‘American Gigolo’ (1980). After two years, he was starred in ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’ with Debra Winger. Throughout the 80s and 90s, Gere established himself as a leading man and a sex symbol with his distinctive fashion style, charisma, and charm. Gere was award as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world in 1991 and as the “Sexiest Mann Alive” in 1999 by People Magazine.
Throughout his career, Gere has also devoted much of his time to the social and humanitarian crisis. He’s a founding member of “Tibet House,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of Tibetan culture. He also supported charities to help those who have aids. Gere has been an active supporter of a human rights organization, “Survival International.”
Richard Gere had a relationship with several actresses, including Penelope Milford, Priscilla Presley, and Kim Basinger. In 1991, Gere married Supermodel Cindy Crawford, and the marriage lasted for four years. In 2002 he married model and actress Carey Lowell. The couple separated after 11 years, and the divorce was finalized in 2016. In early April 2018, Gere married Spanish activist Alejandra Silva. And they have a son.
