Jamie Lee Curtis is an award-winning actress, author, and activist. She made her debut into Hollywood with the role of Laurie Strode in the horror movie “Halloween” in 1978. The film was a super hit and made her “Scream Queen.” After that, Jamie Lee appeared in a string of horror movies throughout the 1980s, including “The Fog,” “Prom Night,” and “Terror Train.” Her film career spans many genres, including romance and cult comedies as well. She made her television debut in an episode of American crime drama “Columbo” in 1977.
During the 1980s, Curtis was engaged to Hollywood production designer J. Michael Riva, but it soon ended. She saw a photograph of Christopher Guest in the issue of Rolling Stone magazine with Cyndi Lauper and decided to marry him. She fell in love at first sight of the photo, and five-month later, she married him. Curtis was an alcohol and painkiller addict that almost destroyed her life. She was prescribed opiates after minor plastic surgery for her “puffy eyes.”
