Cybill Shepherd is an actress, singer, and former fashion model. She started her career as a fashion model and won the ‘Miss Teenage Memphis’ title in her high school at the age of 16. Cybill became a fashion icon of the 1960s and she competed in various fashion modeling contests across the country through high school and afterward. Director Peter Bogdanovich saw her Glamour magazine cover in a grocery store and decided to cast her in his upcoming film ‘The Last Picture Show’ in 1971. The film was a super hit and, Shepherd was nominated for a Golden Globe. After three years, she gained a lead role in the movie ‘Daisy Miller’, however, the film was a box office failure.
Cybill released her first studio album “Cybill Does It…To Cole Porter” in the same year. She rose to fame for her role in TV series, ‘Moonlighting’, ‘Cybil’, and ‘Pysch’. In July 2012, she made her Broadway debut in the revival of Gore Vidal’s The Best Man at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. Throughout the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, she gained worldwide fame for her superb performance in Many TV series and movies.
Cybill Shepherd married David M. Ford, a local auto parts dealer and nightclub entertainer in 1978. The marriage lasted only for 3 years and ended with a divorce. The couple had a daughter, Clementine Ford. She married, Bruce Oppenheim in 1987, and the couple divorced in 1990. Cybill also engaged to Psychologist Andrei Nikolajevic, but the engagement was called off.
