Clint Eastwood is an actor, director, and producer. During the 1960s he rose to fame and emerged as an international star with his incredible acting skills in some of the super hit movies of the era. Eastwood was one of the most recognizable faces of Hollywood. Acting career

Before entering Hollywood, Clintwood did several odd jobs, including lifeguard, paper carrier, grocery clerk, forest firefighter, and golf caddy. He was drafted during the Korean War and stationed in California. After four years in the Army Special Services, he was discharged in 1953. Eastwood moved to Hollywood and made his screen debut with a minor role in the movie ‘Revenge of the Creature’. He also performed in a string of B-movies and was earning seventy-five dollars a week. After several rejections from different studios, Eastwood left the acting career and started digging swimming pools for a living.

He also appeared in several TV series before he got his big break in 1959 by being cast as Rowdy Yates in the popular TV Western series ‘Rawhide’, which lasted seven years (1959–66). During a break from Rawhide in 1964, Eastwood was starred in two movies ‘Spaghetti Westerns’ and ‘A Fistful of Dollars’. These two movies made him an overnight star and he returned to Europe and appeared in two more movies ‘For a Few Dollars More’ and ‘The Good’. The film proved to be one of Eastwood’s most successful, he made four later films with the Callahan character. The 1970s proved to be Eastwood’s busiest decade of his career, he starred in fifteen movies.

Directing career

In 1971, Eastwood made his directorial debut with the thriller movie ‘Play Misty for me’. It received good reviews and did well at the box office. Soon he began to receive more recognition for his contributions as producer and director, Over the next two decades, Eastwood produced several movies and became Hollywood’s most successful actor-turned-directors. He also won his first academy award for his movie ‘Unforgiven’ in 1992.

In 2000, he directed and starred in the movie ‘Space Cowboys’ and the movie performed well at the box office. Eastwood has directed 30 films and he is one of few top Hollywood actors to have also become a critically and commercially successful director. Eastwood’s movies reflect upon real-life stories and revolve around people struggling with serious trauma. His films are often period pieces with strong attention to detail. Actors in his films usually underplay and get the emotion across in subtle ways. He also received an honorary Cesar award in Paris, France for his body of work in 1998.

Personal life

Eastwood has numerous affairs with several actresses. He met his first wife Maggie Johnson in 1953 and they married the same year. He continued having affairs while married to Maggie and they divorced in 1984. They had two children, Kyle and Alison.

In 1975, Eastwood, married actress Sondra Locke and the marriage lasted for fourteen years. He married his third wife, Dina Ruiz in 1996. Dina was a news anchor and she gave birth to their daughter Morgan that same year. This marriage lasted for 17 years and ended with a divorce. Eastwood has been seen with other women since then.

Currently, he is working on a movie based on the novel ‘Cry Macho’. The shooting is set to be concluded on December 16, 2020.
