Vintage Cigarette Cards Of Famous Celebrities From The 1930s

Cigarette cards were trading cards used for the purpose of marketing and rewards. Tobacco companies in the past gave several types of cards along with the cigarette packs to the customers. They were in series, such as the cities of a particular nation and celebrities from a decade. When the customers collect the complete series, they were rewarded with free cigarette packs and many other rewards. Between 1875 and the 1940s, cigarette companies often included collectible cards with their packages of cigarettes.

The series ‘beauties’ consisted of famous actresses, stars, sports women and fashion models. The ‘Modern Beauties’ was a series of real photo portraits or Hollywood actresses. Several major cigarette brands in the US and Europe issued the series. They were usually portraits licensed from the major studios.
