Stunning Vintage Photos capturing Life in Tokyo in 1972

These fascinating photos capture diners at McDonald’s at Ginza’s pedestrian mall, movie theaters, shoppers, and billboards of strip clubs, the San-ai building at the main Ginza Yon-chome crossing in Tokyo. There are people dressed traditionally in Japanese clothing and others in Western fashion.

American photojournalist Harrison Forman captured these vintage photos in 1972 during his trip to Tokyo. In the same year, Japan hosted the Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Hokkaido. It was the first Winter Olympic Games held outside of Europe and North America
