Fascinating Vintage Photos of Stockholm from the 1960s capturing Streets, Landmarks and Everyday Life

Stockholm is the capital and largest city of Sweden, situated on 14 islands, connected by 57 bridges. It has 96 beaches, 100 museums, the world’s largest palace, the world’s Longest Art Gallery in a metro station, and lots of cyclists. The name Stockholm first appeared on record in 1252, when Swedish statesman Birger Jarl used it in a letter. Stockholm became a modern, technologically advanced, and ethnically diverse city in the mid-20th century. Today tourism is an important industry in Stockholm, and it is the second most visited city in the Nordic countries.

Here below are some fascinating vintage photos that show what Stockholm looked like in the 1960s — capturing Streets, landmarks, transportation, and everyday life.
