St. Moritz is a tiny Swiss mountain town, lies on the southern slopes of the Albula Alps below the Piz Nair. St Moritz has been attracting royals, celebrities, and tourists since 1864. Since the late 19th century, it has developed as one of the world’s most famous winter-sport centers. St. Moritz has hosted over 20 FIBT World Championships, three FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. In 1947, LIFE photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt visited St. Moritz and photographed the luxurious life in the post-war years.
