Spain in 1954 Through these Fascinating Photos in Vibrant Colors

After World War II, Spain was economically and politically isolated and kept out of the United Nations. By the late 1950s, Spain was on the verge of economic collapse as a result of its autarkic policies. The crisis led to a change in economic policy, and a team of technocrats announced the Economic Stabilization Plan in 1959. Through this plan, Spain’s market economy was less restricted and it was further integrated into the international capitalist economy.
