Saigon in the 1960s: Incredible Vintage Photos Show Street Scenes and Life

Saigon in the 1960s was not affected by the Vietnam War, as the other rural areas of Vietnam were affected. Life went on much of the same as it had before the war. However, several American troops patrolled on the streets.

Much of the streets also looked the same back in the 1960s as they looked today: tall trees, pedestrians with conical hats, and grocery stalls. There were many motorbikes on the roads and nobody wears helmets. After the war, many street names were changed to shed the colonial history of this city.

Take a look at these beautiful vintage photos that capture street scenes of Saigon in the 1960s.
