Queens is the largest borough geographically and is adjacent to the borough of Brooklyn at the southwestern end of Long Island. It shares water borders with the boroughs of Manhattan and the Bronx. The borough is a patchwork of dozens of unique neighborhoods, each with its own distinct identity.
Here below are some fascinating photos will take you back to old Queens in the 1960s.
Great pictures ! My parents lived on Queens Blvd and 45th Street corner building between 1960 to 1967 ,also my family lived in same building. This is where McGuiness Saloon sits under the building. I used to visit my family and play right by that corner. Great to see all these pictures of that area.
It’s great to see that these neighborhoods have retained much of their original structural character over time.
look mad delightful.😘😘
It would be really interesting to see these on a map.
If you have an iPhone, you can use the Maps app to enter some of the cross streets listed in the pictures. Once you find the location, click on the binoculars icon at the bottom left of the map to move around the streets. A similar feature may be available on Google Maps, though I am not certain how it works on the computer.
That’s really cool! 👍
