Postwar Greece: 50+ Photos Show Everyday Life Of Greece In The 1950s

Greece is considered the birthplace of democracy, Western philosophy, Western literature, historiography, and political science. Athens is the capital, and the largest city in Greece is Athens, and almost 40% of the total population of Greece is residing in the capital. After the devastating end of the Civil war In Greece, the country’s economy had been destroyed and mostly dependent on US aid. In just a decade, 12% of the population emigrated to Australia, Canada, and Germany. The literacy rate of Greek adults in the 1950s was only 30 %, but now it has increased to almost 95 percent.
