Old photographs are like a time machine; they have captured a moment in time that we can revisit any time. They trigger all the emotions and memories of that particular time. They also depict the personality that has changed or gone by the time.
Dutch artist, Ard Gelinck has been working on an ongoing project in which he recreates pictures of celebrities as if they’re hanging out with their younger selves. His images are often quite convincing since he takes the time to find perfect source photos where it appears to be credible that they are posing with each other. Gelinck perfectly blends the colors and tones with the old images which create an illusion of a portrait taken together.
Here below are some of his latest recreations of celebrities. And for his earlier works, check portraits of musicians and celebrities.
This seems like a fun idea, even though it might come across as a bit cheesy. It would be interesting to see a similar comparison using photographs of U.S. presidents on their first day in office and their last day in office.

The Harrison Ford picture is a bit unusual.
I definitely agree with you. The photoshopping in these pictures could have been executed much better.
It would have been funny to see a picture of a younger George Clooney during his mullet years.
