Moraira is a small fishing town in Costa Blanca, Alicante. The historical roots of Moraira as a fishing village still exist today; its fish market is one of the most popular in Costa Blanca. There are also five fishing boats docked in the port.

The town has grown from a fishing village into an appealing holiday and retirement resort that attracts tourists from all over Europe, retaining its considerable charm. Spain’s holidaymakers, mainly from Madrid and Valencia, make it one of their favorite destinations. There is a typical Mediterranean climate in Moraira, with cool sea breezes in summer and protection from the cold winds of the north in winter. The area receives nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine during the summer, and the average temperature easily exceeds 20 degrees.
