Michael Jackson Dressed as His Idol Charlie Chaplin in 1979

Michael Jackson was a die-hard fan of Charlie Chaplin, and he always admired him. We can see moves on his dancing and his moving. To honor his favorite star, Michael Jackson once dressed up as Charlie Chaplin for a photoshoot in 1979, where Chaplin once lived there. British Photographer Tony Prime captured the photos of Michael Jackson in Chaplin’s getup.

Four years later, in 1983, Michael donned a Charlie Chaplin outfit and had more photos taken. At the time, Michael said: “This is in memory of a great man who has touched the hearts of the world with his art of making people laugh and cry. You will always be in my heart. I love you, Charlie Chaplin.”

Michael Jackson also recorded Chaplin’s classic song ‘Smile’ for the ‘HIStory’ album. However, the single was not released along with the album, and only a few copies of the single were produced. As a result, it has become one of the rarest of Michael Jackson memorabilia, with copies selling large amounts of money online.
