Fascinating Vintage Photos of London’s East End in the 1960s

These fascinating photographs documented the street life of London’s East End in the 1960s. Photographer and journalist Steve Lewis captured these photographs in his early years as a press photographer. During that time, Lewis captured the life of London during the Swinging Sixties. These images graphically illustrate widespread poverty, poor housing, industrial unrest, racial tension.

In 1972 he joined The Sun newspaper as a photographer and served 35 years in the paper. He also published a book ‘East End London Album’ in 2014.
