Photographer John Drysdale captured these lovely photographs that depict the beautiful relationship of a little girl and elephant. The little girl was the trainer’s daughter. The photographer doesn’t know the name of the girl.
The girl grew up with the elephant, and they became best friends, playing with one another daily. They liked being together, and, since the elephant had an unusual ability to sit on his haunches, they were able to be close with physical ease.
John Drysdale said
The elephants are not domesticated, so for them to reach the state depicted in the photo, they must have suffered years and years of torture
