Jackson Hole is a beautiful valley between the Teton Mountain Range and the Gros Ventre Range in Wyoming. The town of Jackson was named in late 1893 by Margaret Simpson, who at the time was receiving mail at her home as there was no post office. In 1948, LIFE photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt visited this valley and captured its majestic beauty in vivid and vibrant colors.
