Dazzling Colorful Paintings By Hiroshi Nagai That Illustrate 80s City Pop Art

Hiroshi Nagai is a talented Japanese artist, known for his beautifully polished style, dazzling colorful and visually appealing artworks that simultaneously evoke a sense of isolation from the busy world. From mountains, beaches, palm trees, urban landscapes, play grounds to swimming pools and villas, his paintings feature minimalist universe. He Tokushima Prefecture and started his career in King Terry’s studio and made a name for himself in the early 80s. Nagai was a part of the ‘City Pop’ art movement which emerged in the 1970s.

Nagai worked for famous labels including Moon and Niagara in the 1980s. He also made sleeves for Japanese presses of Max Romeo albums. Have a look at some of hist stunning paintings.
