You may be familiar with the Kodachrome, but the Ecktachrome is slightly different. Kodachrome was too slow in settings where Eptachrome became familiar to many National Geographic readers. National Geographic used Eptachrome extensively for color photographs for decades. Ektachrome has reciprocity characteristics between ten seconds and 1/10,000 of a second.
I feel like collecting, scanning and sharing these images with the world sort of gives them a second life beyond what would be almost certain obscurity and loss from our shared culture.
