Eskilstuna is a city in the Södermanland County of Sweden. It is a former industrial town and its metalworking trade dates back to the 17th century. Eskilstuna is still one of the chief centers of the Swedish metal industry, with internationally known companies such as Volvo Wheel loaders. Since 2012, Eskilstuna has become the world’s capital of recycling. The city has implemented a slate of green initiatives, vying to make it the most environmentally friendly city in Sweden.
