Debra Paget is an actress and entertainer who rose to fame in the 1950s. She was born Debralee Griffin, and she took her screen name from Lord and Lady Paget of England, UK, from whom her family are descended.
Debra Paget’s acting career
Paget made her stage debut at the age of 13 when she acted in William Shakespeare play “The Merry Wives of Windsor. ” She made her debut into Hollywood at the age of 15 with the role of girlfriend of Richard Conte, in “Cry of the City (1948)” At the beginning of her career, Paget had small roles in few films, her big break came when she was cast opposite James Stewart in the 1950 western Broken Arrow. In 1956 she worked with Elvis Presley in the musical Love Me Tender. Paget also hosted her show “An Interlude with Debra Paget”, on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). Paget left the entertainment industry in 1964 after marrying a Chinese millionaire.

During the production of “Love Me Tender (1956)”, Elvis Presley fell in love with Debra Paget and called her “the most beautiful girl in the world”. In 1958 Paget married actor David Street but the marriage lasted only for four months and ended with a divorce. After two years Paget married director Budd Boetticher, and they separated after just 22 days, and their divorce was finalized in 1961. In 1964 Paget married Ling C. Kung and they divorce din 1980.
