Debbie Harry's Alien Transformation for the Song 'Now I Know You Know' by H.R. Giger, 1980

Hans Rudolph Giger was one of the best painters of the 20th century who had a significant impact on computer game developers and fantasy lovers. There is no way to categorize his style simply because it is unique. He designed Alien, probably the most famous sci-fi character on film. His enigmatic, strange artworks combine industrial stylistics with apocalyptic visions of the future. His pieces are both beautiful and fascinating, frightening and repulsive.

Giger’s art attracted musicians known for their unconventional compositions. He worked for ELP, Danzig, and Korn. Debbie Harry commissioned an album cover from him based on his diabolical pictures. Debbie is portrayed without her characteristic, disheveled hairstyle, so the viewer focuses on her face instead.

These stunning photos were taken of Debbie Harry painted by Hans Rudolph Giger on the set of the music video for “Now I Know You Know” from her 1981 album KooKoo.
