A Photographic Tour of Covent Garden, London in the early 1990s by Peter Marshall

The district of Covent Garden lies on the eastern edge of the West End, between St Martin’s Lane and Drury Lane. There is now a shopping and tourist area on the central square, where there was formerly a fruit-and-vegetable market, and there is the Royal Opera House, known as “Covent Garden.” There are independent shops centered on Neal’s Yard and Seven Dials north of Long Acre, and historical buildings, theatres, and entertainment facilities centered around the central square. The theatre Royal, Drury Lane, and the London Transport Museum are located in the district.

During the early 1990s, Photographer Peter Marshall documented life in Convent Garden.
