Children were massively affected by wars and conflicts. When World War II started, millions of children were evacuated from their homes. They had to separate from their families and live with strangers to survive. Countless children were affected by World War II atrocities; children accounted for one in ten of the deaths during the Blitz of London from 1940 to 1941. An estimated 200,000 Polish children were kidnapped during World War II. As many as 75 percent of these children never made it back to their families in Poland. Have a look at these heartbreaking photos compiled by Bygonely of children during WWII.
