The Captivating Celebrity Portraits of Chiara Samugheo, the Neorealist Photographer

Chiara Samugheo was an Italian neorealist photographer and photojournalist born in 1935 in Bari, Italy. She is recognized as the first professional female photographer in Italy and gained prominence in the 1950s and 1960s by capturing film stars and celebrities.

Her photography work is significant and archived at the Centre des études et Archives de la Communication (CSAC) of the University of Parma. Additionally, her work is part of the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.

Unfortunately, she passed away in Bari in 2022 at the age of 86. Her contributions to photography and photojournalism are appreciated and will be remembered.
