Bullet Bras: Before Push Up and Padded Bras, They Were All The Rage In The 1940s and 1950s

The Bullet Bra was invented in the late-1940s and became popular in the 1950s, and within a decade, it disappeared forever. It is a full-coverage bra with cups in the shape of a paraboloid with its axis perpendicular to the breast, featuring concentric circles or spirals of decorative stitching centered on the nipples. Some Hollywood actresses, busty women, and women whose tight-fitting outer garments accentuated her artificially enhanced curves wore these uncomfortable bras. Some other inner wares and outer garments were also worn to enhance body shapes like corsets, girdles, and cone bras. Look at these photographs showing young women and Hollywood actresses who worn bullet bras between the 1940s and 1950s.
