The Newcastle-based photography studio Turners Ltd hired models to promote their work to potential customers. Many of the models’ poses were uncomfortable, off-kilter, and suggestive. Turner’s staff member David Grey plays a feckless husband urged by his suffering wife to stop ogling at women on the telly and get a hobby in a series of images from March 1962 (at the end of this collection). He buys a camera, and his life is restored to full vigor and marital bliss.
