Wishing hard we still had that building behind it ☹️
It’s a gorgeous structure. It’s nice they kept the old bank on the n/w corner and turned it into the Hockey Hall of Fame
it’s still there.
Anyone know anything about the building that was replaced by Okeefe Centre?
Just checking the Goads fire insurance maps, and you have to reach back to 1880 to see any detail about the buildings on the SE corner (and the Board of Trade building on the NE corner hasn’t been built yet – it’s the American Hotel still!). At least you get a sense of what was cleared for the O’Keefe – buildings pretty similar to those that still exist between the O’keefe and St. Lawrence market on the south side.
They replaced O’Keefe Centre??? Sorry I moved away in 73…l loved that place…
Too bad the BoT building was demolished.
it was the VIP parking lot for the O’Keefe center for years
The architect of that building went down with the Titanic in 1912.
And still the old historic Bank of Montreal bldg. bottom left…. saved when it was incorporated into BCE Place, now Brookfield Place. BMO then became the Hockey Hall of Fame. So many historic bldgs. were demolished in that area in the late 1970s/80s, Sad.
I’m pretty sure the the former Bank of Montreal is the “Sports Hall of Fame”, not the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Wow… With the Board of Trade building in the back. When Toronto was still Toronto…
