Madame Yevonde was the first female photographer who captured colored portraits in the 1930s. Yevonde worked with famous photographer Lallie Charles, and at the age of 21, she opened her studio, and in 1921 she moved to larger premises at 10 Victoria Street. Yevonde photographed famous personalities and celebrities, including A.A. Milne Barbara Cartland, Diana Mitford, Louis Mountbatten, and Noel Coward. Yevonde photographed guests of a theme party in 1939, where the participants dressed as Roman and Greek gods and goddesses. And this work gave her a lot of fame.
