Fabulous Photos of Audrey Hepburn During the filming of 'Wait Until Dark (1967)'

Wait Until Dark is a 1967 American psychological thriller film starring Audrey Hepburn, Alan Arkin, and Julie Herrod, based on the 1966 play of the same name by Frederick Knott. Audrey Hepburn plays a young blind woman in the film, Alan Arkin plays a violent criminal, and Richard Crenna plays another criminal. The cast includes Jack Weston, Julie Herrod, and Efrem Zimbalist Jr. Audrey Hepburn was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1967, and Zimbalist won a Golden Globe for his support role.

As the film opens, an older man sews heroin into a doll. A woman takes the doll aboard a plane and convinces a nice guy (Efram Zimbalist Jr.) to carry it for her. Later, some very evil men come to get the doll–and they follow the trail to Zimbalist’s home. However, neither he nor his blind wife (Audrey Hepburn) knows that their lives are in danger. This is where things get interesting. Rather than just bursting into the house and stealing everything, the three criminals (Alan Arkin, Richard Crenna, and Jack Weston) decide to run a scam on the blind woman–and that’s where the film gets interesting. The film is so intelligently written and gets creepy with its twisted plot.
