Located on the Burgensberf Mountain ridge 500m above Lake Lucerne, Bürgenstock was a favorite place for the rich and famous, including Hollywood stars during the Hollywood Golden Age.
Audrey Hepburn married Mel Ferrer at Bürgenstock Chapel in 1954. Sofia Loren and her husband settled in Villa Daniela in the 1960s and became long-term residents. She also lived at the Bügenstock resort for 14 years. Sophia Loren lived next door for a while. During the filming of Goldfinger, even Sean Connery called it home.
