Acting Career
Ann-Margret made her film debut as Bette Davis’ daughter in Frank Capra’s Pocketful of Miracles (1961). She rose to fame with her role in ‘Bye Bye Bride’, the film was a major hit and made her a superstar. Her early roles merely exploited her sex appeal. Throughout the 60s and 70s, she performed in some of the best movies. Ann-Margret continued acting throughout the ’80s, ’90s and into the 21st century, often as a featured star in TV productions.
Singing Career
Ann-Margret began her singing career by performing in weddings, parties, and church socials. She released her first album ‘Here She Is, Ann-Margret’ in 1963. Her single “I Just Don’t Understand” charted in the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 Charts. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, she made several hits on the dance charts. Ann-Margret was invited to serenade President John F. Kennedy at his 46th birthday party.
Ann-Margret married Roger Smith, whom she had first met in 1961. The couple married in May 1967. She has no children, but she was stepmother to the three children of Roger Smith.
Ann Margret Today
Today Ann-Margret still looks gorgeous and charming. Her recent appearance was in 2018 in American comedy-drama ‘The Kominsky Method’, in which she portrayed the role of a widow and possible love interest for the recently widowed Norman.
