Neile Adams is a former actress, singer, and dancer who appeared in twenty movies and television series between 1952 and 1991. She was born Ruby Neilam Salvador Adams, and during World War II, she became a spy for the Philippine resistance. She also suffered shrapnel wounds to one of her legs. After returning to the United States in 1948, she attended Rosemary Hall. After that, Neile went to New York to study dancing, and she got a scholarship at the Katherine Dunham School of Dance.
Began her career as a dancer
In 1953, Neile cast in a musical show “Kismet,” and soon, she became a lead dancer of the show. After that, She performed in another musical show, “The Pajama Show.” Throughout the 1950s, Neile performed in several theater and musical shows. She made her screen debut with a small role in “Women in Chains” in 1972.
Neile Adams Marriages
During her early years of career, Neile met actor Steven McQueen and married four months later. Their marriage legally ended in 1972, and the couple had two children. In 1980, she married Alvin Toffel, a political campaign manager and president of the Norton Simon Museum. And their marriage lasted until Toffel died in 2005. The couple together breeds thoroughbred racehorses.
