Crystal Gayle is a country music singer and songwriter. Gayle started her career at the age of 11 by performing in the background of her sister Loretta Lynn’s bands. Gayle released her first single in 1970 with Decca Records; however, the song failed to attract the attention of the audience. She shifted towards a country-pop style and developed her MOR style. In 1975, “Wrong Road Again,” became Gayle’s first major hit. Gayle rose to fame with the single “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue” in 1977. This song became a major international success, hitting No. 1 on the country chart and No. 2 on the pop chart. This milestone led to several other superhits that topped the charts, and Gayle won Grammy and CMA awards throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Gayle was also the first female country artist who earned a Platinum Record in 1978. Gayle has been married to husband Bill Gatzimos since 1971, and the couple has two children.
Crystal Gayle Long Hair
Crystal Gayle is also famous for her long hair. In 1983, People named her among the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World”. Gayle’s mother kept her hair short in her childhood, but she grew her hair after seeing a woman with long hair in Nashville. By the early 1990s, her hair had reached floor’s length. While speaking with the LA Times in 1990 Gayle admitted that her long hairs gave her headaches and physical pain. And they take hours to completely dry because she doesn’t like to use a hairdryer. Gayle credits her daughter for discouraging a haircut.
