Madame, also known as Madame Sans-Gêne, was a 1961 Spanish-Italian-French film co-production. Sophia Loren played the role of washer-woman, who becomes the wife of an important military man during the Napoleonic period. Sophia was brought into the movie to bring charm and interest. She amused the audience with her beauty and specular cleavage.
The movie had a budget of approximately $6 million. Lavish period sets, beautiful locations, and stunning costumes were designed for Loren by Marcel Escoffier and Itala Scandariato. Have a look at some of the photos.
