During the 90s, artists, celebrities, and designers flocked to Miami’s South Beach for sun and fun. Here, fashion royalty and music royalty lived and played together. Jack Nicholson partied like a rock star on the beach while supermodels spiked volleyballs in bikinis. Talent ruled at a time, and pretension was minimal. South Beach was becoming a fashionable neighborhood from an old folks’ home. However, the older people were mingling with, or more appropriately gawking at, the young people on the beach were quite sweet. In the 1980s and 1990s, Miami bass music also became synonymous with dance floors and car subwoofers across the country. In 1999, there were only 10,000 Jewish people living in Miami Beach.
Here below are some spectacular photos that depict life in Miami Beach during the 1990s.
Cool pics, but why so many about that judge? It just seems like the photographer had a session with the guy or something. Anyway…
Why the hell are they in black and white?
During the 90’s, film photography started to die and digital photography began to bloom…the world was in color.
Nobody had black and white cameras >1989 they converted it to B&W. Nothing looks more cringey than someone trying to make a 1993 Geo Metro convertible look cool with a B&W filter. Nothing can make a Geo metro look cool.
They 100% still made black and white film in the 1990’s. I used it in photography class.
