Fascinating Snapshots of Switzerland in 1954

Switzerland rose to respectability as an international community member during the Cold War. The country’s neutrality allowed it to act as a mediator between the two antagonistic camps. Still, as a capitalist democracy with a strong Citizen’s Army, it became a key defender of non-communist.
