Marisa Berenson is an actress and model. She inherited her grandmother Elsa Schiaparelli’s fiery taste for fashion. A Medici descendant with Italian roots, Schiaparelli revolutionized the fashion scene with her surrealist and antic designs.

Modeling Career

She started her modeling career at the age of sixteen with Vogue magazine. She was one of the highest-paid models in the world during the 1960s. She was one of the highest-paid models during the 1960s. During her teen years, she frequently appeared at nightclubs and other social venues, earning her the nickname “Queen of the Scene.”  Many Vogue fashion layouts featured Berenson in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Acting career

Marisa Berenson made her acting debut with the movie ‘Death in Venice’ in 1971.  In Stanley Kubrick’s ‘Barry Lyndon (1975)’, she played tragic beauty, Lady Lyndon. Berenson appeared in more than thirty films and thirty-five TV episodes of different shows. She also received two Golden Globe nominations, a BAFTA nomination, and an award from the National Board of Review.

Berenson portrayed the role of Lady Capulet in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at the Garrick Theatre in London in August 2016. She also guest-hosted an episode of The Muppet Show during its third season in 1978. Berenson also serves on the board of Culture Project, which sponsors the theatre.

Personal life

Marisa Berenson was married twice and had a daughter. Her first husband was James Randall, a rivet manufacturer. They married in 1976 and divorced two years later. In 1982, she married her second husband, Aaron Richard Golub, which lasted for five years.

Marisa’s younger sister and sole sibling, Berinthia “Berry” Perkins, was killed in the 9/11 attacks. She was on a plane flying from Paris to New York during the terrorist attacks. In an interview with CBS, she described the ordeal and how she arrived in Newfoundland (flights were diverted to Canada) hours later and learned of her sister’s death from her daughter over the phone.
