Home and Office on Wheels: The 1952 Executive Flagship Had it All in One Vehicle

Mid-States Corporation’s Pan-American division built the Executive Flagship, the world’s most exciting and complete mobile home and office. This one-of-a-kind mobile home was a perfect advertisement for Mid-States, a large trailer manufacturer. William B. MacDonald, the company’s president, designed the Executive Flagship. The home weighed 18 tons and measured 65 feet long with 10 wheels. It was self-powered and articulating.

Located in the front of the motorhome were the kitchen and bathroom. It had a 26-foot wheelbase. The back section of the mobile was similar to an articulated 5th wheel unit and had all the amazing stuff such as an observation lounge, a sun deck that could withstand a helicopter landing, a portable six-foot-deep inflatable swimming pool with a diving board, an extendable sundeck, air-conditioned dining nook, and bar. It was truly adventurous and work mobile.
